Explanation of "Catalyst Hammer: SAVAAR's Upgrade" lyrics:

- “You gassed, I can see yo' +yellow streak+ like Jules Jannsen
.22, but not his birth, February cold, too handsome”
To explain these bars, Pierre Jules Jannsen discovered a yellow spectral line signature in sunlight during a solar eclipse in 1868 that ended up being the noble gas Helium, which also explains the "You gassed" part of that line. There's a second meaning of "yellow streak", which is me calling the target in question a coward, this is connected to the insult "yellow-belly". There's also a third meaning, as in I can see where he's urinated on himself, leaving a yellow streak. Hey... my first triple entendre. Lol, Also, Pierre Jannsen was born on the 22nd of February, which is why I said ".22, not his birth, February cold". The dot in front of the number 22 implies that I was speaking of a 22 caliber pistol while alluding to the day he was born as well as the month. The "too handsome" part is not important or should be self-explanatory. Lol

- “Shells from the back, like Blastoise -- two cannons”
Doesn't require much of a explanation because if you're familiar with Pokemon, you know that Blastoise has two water cannons that stick out of his shell. And to connect it to the line about using the .22 handgun, there's the word "shells" as in the shell casings dropped when a gun is fired. Pretty neat, huh? Lol

- “My name get +Cheers+ like Bebe Neu - an' Danson”
Another one that doesn't require much explanation, but Bebe Neuwirth and Ted Danson were both cast members of the early 80's sitcom "Cheers" and that word in itself is a simile. People cheer for my name when they hear me flow, or... they will. Lol

_ “The +Chief+ come in just like - Buck Buchanan
On defense, thou can't pass, after my quarter back/quarterback”
Now, Buck Buchanan was a defensive tackle for the Kansas City Chiefs from '63 to '75. Being that he was a DT, that meant he was a pretty large and strong guy. Spliced info taken from Wikipedia:
<<A defensive tackle is usually the largest and strongest of the defensive players in American football. The defensive tackle typically lines up opposite one of the offensive guards. A defensive tackle may be called upon to fill several different roles. These may include merely holding the point of attack by refusing to be moved or penetrating a certain gap between offensive linemen to break up a play in the opponent's backfield. If a defensive tackle reads a pass play, his primary responsibility is to pursue the quarterback, or simply knock the pass down at the line if it's within arm's reach.>>
Basically, I consider myself the chief of my squad (‪#‎TGL‬!), and I won't let you get by. I will play heavy defense to keep you from passing me. The "quarter back/quarterback" line is of course a play on words and is stating I'm coming after my quarter (My time of year to release music) from anybody who plans to drop during it. I need that shine.

- “Bring the water back, the king is dyin', he needs a cure”
Reference to "The Water of Life", a German story collected by the Brothers Grimm. Look it up for full details. Also, this may seem like a random line to throw in, but I just recently released a mixtape called "Call Me King" and on it I gave my all. After doing so, I've been feeling like it's over for me lately with Hip-Hop, like I'm dying in this game. I need that "water" (support) to heal me so I can go back at it. I'm thirsty in this shit, keep me hydrated please. Lol

- “I'm - sure that when - this shit drop, it'll be lit
Like - nitrogen trichlo', set off inside a cyclo'
Ill 'til the end of my life cycle, two fingers out -- Pierre Dulong”
Okay, we all know that "lit" is one of the most popular and widely used slang words in this day and age, so when something is "lit", it's gonna be fire (That's another double-entendre of sorts. Lol). Anyway, to connect that to the next line, nitrogen trichloride is highly explosive in it's pure form. It's very sensitive to light and heat, and that can cause it to explode. Moving on, French physicist Pierre Dulong lost two fingers in a nitrogen trichloride explosion. He also lost an eye. Anyway, "two fingers out" is mostly just me saying peace, but connecting it to the fact Monsieur Dulong lost two, meaning they were "out" or "off". Lol, Isn't that clever?

- “I go off, I'm too strong; ammonia highly concentrated”
Short explanation if possible, ammonia is a gas that has a very strong smell. It's used as a solvent when put in liquid form and also as fuel. In highly concentrated amounts, it's hazardous. Basically, I'm fully fueled and lethal to most emcees in high doses/exposure. At least I like to think so. Lol

- “+7 years+ like a Windowpane, +floundered+ in this game”
If you're not well versed in aquatic lifeforms, you'd think I'm rapping about the frame around a glass window, but I'm not. Lol, I'm talking about the Windowpane flounder, a species of fish that has a lifespan of up to 7 years. For 7 years, I've been working on getting better. Also, the word "flounder" means to struggle mentally and be in serious difficulty. I've found myself being in quite the complex and hard-knock situations while pursuing a rap career. Sometimes I feel like there's no hope, but I refuse to quit. I keep going.

- “Pouted an' switched my name, doubted that shit can change”
Anybody who knows me well knows that I wear my heart on my sleeve and also that I've gone through dozens of rap names before I decided on Fineprint Misread as my official name. Aside from that, I stay in a state of doubt mentally. Seems like my situation will never get better, perpetually in a rut.

- “My heart's a wicked cage, in which a blacksmith
Wit' a heated hammer chips away - at ice that it contains”
Well, here we are, let's talk about my black heart. It's been through a lot. So much so that it's become contorted and frozen over, but there's something in it working hard to thaw it out and refine it. Which brings me to the line about the "blacksmith wit' a heated hammer". This is a not so subtle reference to the Roman god of fire, Vulcan, who's symbol is a blacksmith's hammer.

- “A lot of love remains, fuelin' my drive
More torque than a Porsche Spyder, the Mutsu of my eye”
Despite the aforementioned lines, my heart still has a lot of love in it which is what keeps me going. With that fuel, I apply torque to my lyrical flywheel to keep the energy inside me in a state of continuous flux. Sometimes, staying motivated is beyond my control, so I need the energy I do have to go above it's ability. Also, a Mutsu is a type of apple and something being "the Mutsu of my eye" would basically be that ever famous phrase, "the apple of my eye".

- “Be's Hip-Hop, I go in like Marshawn
+Beast Mode+ 'til the end of my road”
Continued from and connecting to the previous line, the apple of my is Hip-Hop. Due to how much I enjoy what I do, I go in hard like Marshawn Lynch also known as Beast Mode. 'Til the day I can't rap anymore, I'll always come hard. It's a must.

lyrics

"Catalyst Hammer: SAVAAR's Upgrade"

Shake the rust off, this too deep for who's laughin'
You gassed, I can see yo' +yellow streak+ like Jules Jannsen
.22, but not his birth, February cold, too handsome
Shells from the back, like Blastoise -- two cannons
Dreams of Giuseppe Hi-Tops an' jewels dancin'
My name get +Cheers+ like Bebe Neu - an' Danson
See me do - my anthem, think he's through wit' rappin'?
Chibi dudes, I smash them, keep my cool an' fashion
Will rule this planet, fuck where you standin'
The +Chief+ come in just like - Buck Buchanan
On defense, thou can't pass, after my quarter back/quarterback
In disarray in the scrimmage, bringin' order back
I - came to slaughter that, which is impure
Bring the water back, the king is dyin', he needs a cure
I'm - sure that when - this shit drop, it'll be lit
Like - nitrogen trichlo', set off inside a cyclo'
Ill 'til the end of my life cycle, two fingers out -- Pierre Dulong
Beware when dude's on
I go off, I'm too strong; ammonia highly concentrated
On ya', highly underrated; flow is fly enough to make it
Knowin' I'm the fuckin' greatest, shown wit' 90 rhymes I'm makin'
Road's - highly tough I'm takin', but I'ma fuckin' take it
See I'm above the hatred, I love the rush of breakin'
Goin' against the grain, flowin' wit' grit an' pain
+7 years+ like a Windowpane, +floundered+ in this game
Pouted an' switched my name, doubted that shit can change
Rerouted my wits an' rage, see every scripted page
Has been a buildin' block, leads right up to this age
My heart's a wicked cage, in which a blacksmith
Wit' a heated hammer chips away - at ice that it contains
A lot of love remains, fuelin' my drive
More torque than a Porsche Spyder, the Mutsu of my eye
Be's Hip-Hop, I go in like Marshawn
Beast Mode 'til the end of my road, SAVAAR's gone...
